Giraffe, survivor of Noah's Ark.

Noah's Ark

The ark has been torn down, but an elephant and giraffe still stand in the parking lot. A security guard was sitting in an SUV, but made no move to stop us from clambering around the animals and taking pictures. We gave a friendly wave to the guard before moving on.

I always loved the ark as a kid, by the way. Ate there two or three times. I especially loved the hippo that was right by the door, with change in its mechanized mouth.

Noah's Ark

The Noah's Ark former hotel and restaurant has been proposed to be torn down and they're wanting to build a big high-rise with condos, stores, an aquatic rehabilitation center, an outside ice-skating rink, and a movie theater.

This place has been closed and kind of decrepit looking for several years now -- although it was quite a place to hang out back in the day. Some firefighters had a fundraising haunted house there last Halloween. That didn't go over too well from what I've heard. Bad haunted house.

Noah's Ark Restaurant

This long time roadside attraction, along Interstate 70 just west of the Missouri River in Saint Charles MO, was scheduled to be torn down soon, in November 2005. It was used at the end of October 2005 for a Haunted House attraction for a local organization fund raising. The plans are for it to be razed and the site used for future development, involving some type of health fitness/rehab center

Noah's Ark Restaurant

I recently stopped at the gas station that sits on the Noah's Ark property. The gas station is going out of business. The cashier turned out to be the son of the station owner, and told me the entire property has been sold, including the Ark. An aquatic fitness center is to be built and everything currently on the property is to be torn down. How very sad! As a child, I always enjoyed going by Noah's Ark and seeing the animals on display. The elephant mentioned in prior posts used to sit on top of the motel and could be seen by all just before crossing the Blanchette Bridge.
