After a recent attempt to schedule a stop at Omaha Cold Storage, I am sorry to have to report that Sonja Henie's ice heart beats no longer. From what I gathered in a conversation with the plant manager, the company figured it had held on to the heart long enough. After several failed attempts to interest local museums and civic organizations in a transplant, Sonja Henie's ice heart was given the heave ho. (Actually, the plant manager was pretty vague about the disposal of Sonja's heart, only saying it was no longer around.) As there have been no reported sightings of Ms. Henie's ghost in the Omaha/Council Bluffs vicinity, I can only assume that she is forever condemned to walk the earth a la the Tin Man.
