Most hated tower.

President Clinton takes firm stand against inappropriate erection

President Clinton's recently unveiled 1999 budget includes $5.7 million to buy land around the Gettysburg battlefield -- including a privately-owned 310 foot tall observation tower that almost everybody hates. "There is no better symbol for the need to preserve the Gettysburg battlefield than taking down this tower," said Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt, quoted by the AP.

Could this be an attempt to cover up executive branch boners by "going soft" on traditionally anti-observation tower liberals? If so, what other inconvenient erections are on the chopping block? The Genoa Wonder Tower? The SOB Sombrero Tower? The Oral Roberts Prayer Tower? Does that man in the White House ever know when to stop??? [Update: The Battle Tower has been demolished]
