Strataca: Underground Salt Museum

Hutchinson, Kansas

There's nothing much to look at above ground at the Kansas Underground Salt Museum. The fun begins when you take that elevator almost 700 feet to the mine level...

One item that struck us as unique was a historic photograph blown up and printed onto plywood -- with head cut-outs for a you-are-there photo op. But the photo is of tourists from another era riding the elevator down into the mine! So visitors can pose as visitors!
