Museum Garage
Miami, Florida
It's not a garage at a museum, it's a garage that is a museum. The exterior is, anyway. It's a parking garage covered in art, which made it a "museum" to the people who named it. Art and viewer confusion are never mutually exclusive.
The "garage" part of Museum Garage is indisputable: a seven-story, 800-car parking garage at the north end of the Miami Design District. The artwork covering its facade was created by five different design firms that had no idea what the other four would look like, which explains Museum Garage's herky-jerky curb appeal. The five artworks are titled "Ant Farm," "XOX," "Serious Play," "Barricades," and "Urban Jam." Of the five, the last is the most easily relatable to the building: 45 gold-and-silver cars jammed together in what looks like an aerial view of a city parking lot.
