Big Daddy - Armless Muffler Man
Las Cruces, New Mexico
Type: Classic (22 ft. tall)
Arm position: Missing
Accessories: Sign
Nickname: Big Daddy
Since the 1980s, this fiberglass giant has served as a sign-holder for Big Daddy's weekend flea market, standing between two low buildings and facing the parking lot. We assume the figure is also named "Big Daddy."
In his current paint scheme, he wears a white shirt and green pants. He also sports a thin black Burt Reynolds '70s mustache.
Both of the big guy's arms below his short sleeves are missing, a condition that would consign most statues to the back lot or the junkyard. Instead, he's a serviceable advertising prop, via rods and wires, to promote "Big Daddy's Flea Market."
On the other end of the parking visitors will find a gargantuan cow statue, "El Toro." El Toro possesses all of this limbs, and also supports a sign: "El Toro says 'Shop Here'."
