Video: 80th Annual Memorial Service - July 12, 2008

Mount Holly, NJ American Legion Post 11 pulled out all the stops on 2008's memorial service out at the Carranza crash site monument. It was the 80th anniversary of the young pilot's fatal crash during a 1928 nonstop flight from New York City to Mexico City.
The event, on Saturday afternoon, July 12th, 2008, drew a large crowd of Carranza fans, descendants, delegates from the Mexican consulate, and the media.
The video shows a bit of the opening moments, as the color guard, relatives and dignitaries marched around the memorial. Speeches were given; a lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol did three fly overs...
