Original Black Duck Statue
Blackduck, Minnesota
Along a busy continuum of single statue villages, Blackduck offers three civic pride statues to remind visitors that they at least slowed down here.
Downtown is the "Original Duck," which resembles a carved hunter's decoy. It's not actually the original -- this duck was built in 1942 to replace a less hardy statue. The duck measures 16 ft. long, crafted from cement, and sits on a pedestal on Main Street, next to the fire department.
