We’ve been searching for a suitable destination to recommend for Valentine’s Day. Our choice in the past, the annual VD Dinner inside of Lucy The Elephant in Margate, New Jersey, has been canceled this year due to Lucy’s ongoing maintenance problems.
So here’s a substitute worth considering: the “Crimes of Passion Experience” at the National Museum of Crime and Punishment in Washington, DC. Lovey-dovey couples entering the museum this weekend will be handcuffed together and encouraged to contemplate special exhibits that describe crimes such as the “Valentine’s Vampire” and the Nichole Brown Simpson murder. Hey, how could that have been a crime of passion when O.J. was asleep at the time?
The Museum claims that couples will “delight their dark side” with this unusual event. And they get to keep the handcuffs.
