The brown cave bat is the playful sprite in the Fairyland of Secret Caverns. Through myriad cartoon incarnations, the bat is friendly, ready to aid the confused visitor. Here he juggles upside-down as a form of comic relief for the somewhat stodgy alien life forms who share his cave.

Bats were once considered evil and dirty, feared by the public and cast in fiction as the creatures of the undead. For many years, Secret Caverns has presented the bat as a natural and welcome inhabitant of its passages.

Address:: 671 Caverns Rd, Cobleskill, NY
Directions:: I-88 Exit 22. Turn north onto Hwy 145, then immediately turn right onto Hwy 7. Drive a little over a mile, then turn left onto Caverns Rd. Follow the billboards about 1.5 miles to Secret Caverns on the left.
Hours:: Daily April-Dec. 11-3, hourly tours (Call to verify) Local health policies may affect hours and access.
