More shakers than you can shake a shaker at. 20,000 pairs collected by archaeologist Andrea Ludden. Shakers shaped like skulls, witches, tombstones, toilets, human feet!
Opened May 1, 1982, as part of the Knoxville World's Fair. Abandoned in 1999, restored and reopened in 2007. Its tower was originally painted blue so that the gold ball on top would appear more sunlike.
One of the oldest motels in town. Formerly with fake teepee fronts at the entrance to each rustic cabin, but these have dwindled to a handful. The motel was featured in the 1998 Kevin Bacon film, "Digging to China."
