Quirky Tourist Attractions in or near Tennessee
While in Tennessee, you might enjoy a visit to:
A statue of a barefoot, young Dolly Parton with a guitar is sometimes rubbed for good luck. Dolly grew up in Sevierville.
You'll already be high in the Smoky Mountains, but you can climb even higher for a view from the top of a space needle.
But not forbidden to you. This show cave was used as a hideout to make moonshine until 1943, which perhaps explains its current name. Open to the public since 1967, when its name was Blowing Cave.
Opened May 1, 1982, as part of the Knoxville World's Fair. Abandoned in 1999, restored and reopened in 2007. Its tower was originally painted blue so that the gold ball on top would appear more sunlike.
