Mythological 50,000-year-old mini-golf resort broke away from Atlantis, floated to Myrtle Beach, and lodged itself in the old Chapin's Department Store.
In 1958, the U.S. Air Force accidentally dropped an atom bomb on South Carolina. Pieces of it are displayed in the Florence Museum.
Open since 1965. Exhibits include a mounted fish; somebody's shorts; a case filled with illegal parts confiscated from race cars; and Darrell Waltrip's 1991 car, torn to pieces in a wreck, the most popular item in the museum.
