Relic from the Civil War, when every building was evidently in the line of fire. Plaque on church says it was built on land owned by VP Andrew Johnson, which is maybe another reason why someone took a potshot at it.

One of the oldest motels in town. Formerly with fake teepee fronts at the entrance to each rustic cabin, but these have dwindled to a handful. The motel was featured in the 1998 Kevin Bacon film, "Digging to China."
