Saint Petersburg, Florida Attractions
Unusual landmarks, museums, roadside attractions, and hidden wonders in Saint Petersburg and the surrounding area.
Saint Petersburg has a storied roadside attraction past, and was home to the sprawling downtown Webb's City (1925-1979), "World's Most Unusual Drug Store." Gone, along with golden age faves such as Tiki Gardens, and the fun version of Sunken Gardens. The World's Largest Shuffleboard Club still beckons, and the twin cities of Tampa and Saint Petersburg have broadened their appeal to include offbeat community art, a dinosaur made of recycled junk, the World's Largest Collection of Autographed Baseballs, and museum exhibits that include a two-headed calf and the world's only exhibited Criminal Brassiere.
Nearby Tarpon Springs is America's version of a Greek fishing village, and lends unexpected excitement to the term "fibrous skeleton" with its Spongeorama.
