National Pet Hall of Fame to Open at Pet Cemetery

Aspin Hill Memorial Park, Silver Spring, Maryland, a pet cemetery where over 40,000 beloved companions are interred, will be the site of the National Pet Hall of Fame. Scheduled to open for visitors on October 1, 2005, the Pet Hall of Fame is a project of the Chesapeake Wildlife Sanctuary.

Aspin Hill Memorial Park is America's 2nd oldest pet cemetery. We all know it as the resting place of a couple of celebrity animals, including the Little Rascals' Petey, J. Edgar Hoover's dogs, and Rags, WWI mascot. But it's also where you'll find the Medical Rats Memorial, a plaque and small statue honoring the millions sacrificed to experimentation and product testing.
