M&M's World Opens in Vegas
M&M's is the latest food product to exude its candy-coating onto the neon-lit arteries of Las Vegas, America's most popular tourist destination. M&M's World, a three-story retail and entertainment complex, opened this week. Earlier this year, the World of Coca Cola West opened on the Strip, a self-directed tribute to the soft drink, mirroring the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, GA.
"The opening of M&M's World is the culmination of a vision to bring the colorful fun of M&M's Candies to consumers in a spectacular shopping and entertainment experience," said Mary Foster, business director, M&M's World. "M&M's World is a great way for people around the world to connect with their favorite candy and their favorite characters, Red, Yellow, Green and Blue."
The attraction adds its own gaudy sign to the Strip -- a 3D 40-foot long M&M's bag shaking out candy. Three M&M's characters, 15 to 19 feet tall, entice Strip denizens to come inside. One see-thru wall of a second-floor store is filled from floor to ceiling with . . . M&M's.
The rest of our information describes a variety of merchandise and gift shops. This may be closer in spirit to a vile Nike Town than anything, but someone should investigate. M&M's World is located near the MGM Grand Hotel.
