Henry Ford Museum to Wiener-ize Household Appliances Snack Bar
The Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, MI, has moved a vintage Oscar Mayer Wienermobile from the back depths of their massive collection to center stage. The museum restaurant, ringed by old vacuum cleaners, stoves and other kitchen appliances is now dominated by the presence of the famous hot dog-shaped vehicle. There is talk that the snack facility will be totally "Wiener-ized" - featuring more Oscar Mayer memorabilia and a menu that will be skewed towards OM's many meaty offerings.
Gift shop personnel report that the souvenir wienermobile banks, modeled after the current Wienerfleet of the 21st Century, are brisk sellers, along with soft-sewn bologna-to-wiener "transformers."
