Seething mass of crocodiles added at Gatorland Zoo
The Orlando Sentinel reported in its CFB magazine for August 17 - 23, 1998 that Gatorland in Kissimmee, FL, is adding a new two acre display featuring Nile, Cuban, American and Australian crocs "in a swamp like setting."
It will be called Jungle Crocs of the World, will have 37 residents and will open on September 1, 1998. Gatorland hopes to showcase crocodile hunting behavior, and have subjected the killer reptiles to intense "training" sessions.
Gatorland is a popular stop for alligator show aficionados, in part because of its spectacular "Gator Jumparoo" Show, where whole chickens dangle from wires over a scummy pond, enticing normally comatose gators to leap for their dinner.
