Bristol, VA: birthplace of country music?
Congress has proclaimed Bristol, Virginia to be the official birthplace of country music. A country music museum opened there this week paying homage to Tennessee Ernie Ford and the Carter family,, believed to be the earliest recorded artists of hillbilly music.
Coincidentally, just over the state line, in Bristol, Tennessee, is the world's biggest guitar.
