Statue Salutes Beetle Bailey Creator
A half-ton bronze statue of Beetle Bailey is being moved to the University of Missouri campus where the lay-about enlisted man cartoon character was conjured. Mort Walker created Bailey while hanging out at a local beer joint called The Shack, which burned down in 1988. The sculpture shows Bailey sitting with a beer.
