Heads Polished at Foster's Bighorn

We have an update from Howard Lamothe, new owner of Foster's Bighorn in Rio Vista, CA. Our review, while as positive as you can be about eating in a place with 300 dead animal heads, noted the dank and murky atmosphere at Foster's. Howard notes improvements: "I really cleaned everything up ... we painted the ceilings and the walls, washed the animal horns and the eyes, and brushed very intensely the animal coats ... all the musty smells, dungeon appearance, and claustrophobic feeling is now gone....

"I really have a master showplace of the West," Howard reminded us, "and the best part is the public is dining on great food and having fun, which helps me continue with the improvements...."
