WWF ready to pile drive wax attractions in Niagara Falls
The world's first World Wrestling Federation attraction, including a 220-foot drop-ride and more than 4,000 square feet of retail and exhibit space, is opening in Niagara Falls, Canada, officials announced during WrestleMania Week in Toronto.
"World Wrestling Federation is extremely pleased to bring our brand to Niagara Falls, one of the world's leading tourist destinations," said Roger Marment, Executive Vice President, International Business Development at WWFE. "An important part of our international expansion strategy is to place our brand in those environments where it clearly adds value to the user experience, whether that be a tourist destination, video game or wireless device."
The WWF will be vying for tourist dollars with such popular Clifton Hill attractions as the Criminals Hall of Fame Wax Museum, House of Frankenstein, Screamers, and Alien Encounter. The WWF facility includes the "Pile Driver" - where riders shoot up 220-feet in the air, then drop back down in a thrilling, edge of your seat adventure. Visitors will find two levels of retail and exhibit space at the base of the "Pile Driver," which will contain Federation exhibits, memorabilia, exclusive merchandise and interactive displays. Multi-media lighting designs and effects will create an atmosphere for fans equivalent to that of stepping into a World Wrestling Federation arena.
Some 14-million tourists visit Niagara Falls every year. The city is one of the world's most popular tourism destinations.
