Rod of Confusion.

Mystery Spot Flexes Muscles

Massive slides of mud and rock continue to bury U.S. 101 Leggett and Piercy, CA, as they do every year at this time. The latest slide dumped 5,000 cubic yards of rock, mud, and debris teen feet deep across the highway on Saturday night, February 15. Bureaucrats and "scientists" blame the weather and unstable geology but ignore the obvious cause. At the bottom of the slides sits the Confusion Hill Mystery Spot, open as an attraction since 1949, but, of course, exerting its awesome power for millennia before that.

One wonders: is Confusion Hill simply unaware of its own strength? Or, more ominously, is it closing U.S. 101 -- the North Coast's main artery -- DELIBERATELY so that stranded motorists will visit it in the slow off-season? If the latter is true, might other mystery spots, also conveniently located just off of major highway exit ramps, start pulling similar shenanigans? Tom Ridge, open your eyes!

The photo above, from the Roadside files, shows the Confusion Hill train engineer explaining the Magnetic Rod of Confusion and the mysterious energies emanating from the hillside.
