One of my favorite sights on the way to Orlando. My husband was driving so I managed to take photos from the passenger seat as we passed by.
[Shellynet, 07/01/2016]Airstream Ranch:- Directions:
- Tampa RV. I-4 exit 14, southwest corner. Continue past RV entrance to stoplight and turn right onto US 92, go 1/4 mile and take a right onto Castlewood Rd. 1/2 mile, ranch is on left.
- Hours:
- Feb. 9, 2017: Torn down.
- Status:
- Gone
Can't stop or get photo from front, which is the better view, but only as a drive by. But by following the directions, you can see across a field to back view.
[Carol, 05/04/2016]Cool, but your best pic shots will not be on the back roads described, but will be if you pull over (safely) off the interstate. It does come up on you quick on the interstate so be wary.
[J Bryson, 02/01/2016]- Dover, Florida - Airstream Ranch
The best view of the Airstream Ranch is from I-4. You can, however, still get to the back side of it by taking I-4 exit 14. Turn south at the exit and drive past the RV dealership. Turn right at the stoplight onto US 92. After approximately a quarter-mile turn right onto Castlewood Road. Keep following the road approximately a half-mile, and Airstream Ranch will be on the left. There is a fence so you will not be able to access the Airstreams, and you will have the traffic from the highway in the background of your pictures, but you will be able to take your time to safely see them.

Now owned by Tampa RV sales and they won't let you back there anymore. But they have added two one-dimensional cows to the mix. To see them you will need to pull over as you near the McIntosh exit.

Hard to photograph. Perhaps not so bad on a light traffic day, but the interstate shoulder isn't very wide, and seemed risky for a stop. We instead looped back to the previous exit for a drive-by, with the photographer in the passenger's seat. Even then, slow lane antics won't be appreciated by drivers speeding towards Orlando.
