This is a beautiful park. Lots of shade. Bring a picnic. The carvings are an added bonus. Not just creepy trolls, but lots of animals, too.
[Tansy Ridings, 07/22/2012]- Montevallo, Alabama - Tinglewood Trail - Orr Park
Tim Tingle carved faces and animals on trees around the park. Some are creepy and some are cute. It is well worth seeing. A lot of work went into the carvings.
[Lynn Zimmerman, 12/30/2010] - Opelika, Alabama - Mann Museum - Moved
It has moved and is now with the Montgomery Zoo. Right -- a place to see live and dead animals, neither of which are in their natural habitat or depicted in any real scenario (go figure why a zoo with live animals would want the dead ones killed by a hunter for a trophy kill).

- Opelika, Alabama - Mann Museum - Dead Animals Attack!
The museum, owned by a famous bowhunter, rationalizes hunting by depicting carniverous animals and their prey. It has lots of (stuffed) bears, wolves, mountain lions, etc. in threatening postures, and large deer looking like trophies. Poisonous spiders and reptiles are also on display. Exhibit descriptions emphasize that hunting and killing is natural, without distinguishing between survival and entertainment.
Owner George P. Mann probably isn't related to Tom Mann, who runs Fish World in Eufaula, but the two museums have a similar feel and premise.

Tingle started carving on old cedar trees killed in a 1993 storm. There are over 30 faces sculpted onto trunks around the park.
