We camped at the UFO Watchtower in our VW Bus. Super nice folks! Great view of the sunset and mountains. Warm fresh homemade cinnamon rolls! Highly recommended for an overnight camp stop. but even if you don't camp, great place to stop.

- Hooper, Colorado - UFO watchtower - Personal Witnessing
Just a quick side note about the UFO watchtower in Hooper, CO. During my recent visit, Judy, the woman who runs the place, was offering a free bumper sticker or frisbee if you (the customer) let her tape your account of a personal experience regarding a UFO sighting. I got a free frisbee! Also, there are camping spots available and, according to Judy, most of the sightings that have occurred there were at night. One other detail...the Colorado Gator Farm is about 5 1/2 miles further south on Highway 17.
[Cal Bray, 08/27/2001] I visited the UFO Watchtower during the Memorial Day weekend. As has been said, it's in the middle of nowhere, but one of the more scenic nowheres. From there one has a good view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Sand Dunes National Monument. If you're going to be in the area, the Watchtower (more like a watch-platform) and dome-shaped gift shop is worth seeing for the novelty of it.
[Erik McCloud, 06/11/2001]- Platteville, Colorado - Miller Farms - Goofy Attractions
We went on a Sunday around noon and we were the only ones there. It's a pretty ghetto place, but cool for the kids. The Cars characters and rooster are still out front. There is a building and we noticed a staff person inside so we went in. There were lots of fresh fruits and veggies, and she said we could walk around the "festival" area for free. There were some bumper cars, chickens, UFOs, a little bit of everything.

Newseum adds death car to its prestigious collection
The Newseum, a museum about journalists, has accepted the donation of a bomb-damaged car from the widow of the car's driver, investigative reporter Don Bolles. Organized crime figures, unhappy with stories Bolles wrote about them, paid a hit man to blow the newsman up in his car in 1976. The Newseum, which plans to feature the car in an exhibit remembering journalists killed in the line of duty, remains closed as it moves from Arlington, Virginia to an expanded facility in Washington DC.
Death cars have proven to be popular tourist draws for less prestigious establishments, including Whiskey Pete's Casino (Bonnie & Clyde's Death Car), the Missouri Highway Patrol Safety Education Center (a drunk's death car), and Carbo's Police Museum (Buford Pusser's Death Car).
