So we passed the Big Cock several times during our stay in Branson. We knew it was the biggest and we passed it maybe four or five times before we finally said, "Okay! I guess we HAVE to take a picture now. It might make for a mildly interesting story." There is a restaurant connected to the Big Bird that we did not have the pleasure of trying out, but if you like steak or chicken, I hear it is the place to go. Lots of southern fried food. You can pop in for a quick picture and stay for the food if you like, or continue about your business in Branson, as there are definitely more spots to see.

According to the local Branson newspaper, the patriotic owners of the town's new Great American Steak and Chicken House had originally planned to build a rooster 35 feet tall. But they boosted their bird to 43 feet when they learned of a 37-footer in France.
This is an undeniably American fowl, with a star-spangled vest and bow tie, an American flag lapel pin, and a red, white, and blue replica farm behind him. You have to walk between his legs to enter the building.
[RoadsideAmerica.com Team, 04/14/2011]A great scenic ride up into the Ozarks. Each train car is vintage from a era of 1930s thru the 1950s. A relaxing ride enjoyed by all ages. My teenaged children really loved it. They were able to explore the different cars during our nearly 2 hours tour.

My daughter and I went last summer. My favorite riding horse was there that was my brother's from the early 1950s. So many memories; toys that my mom had from when she was little (born in '29), when I was little in the '60s, and toys my daughter played with '90s. It was worth every penny for the memories!
