Huge dinosaurs! Three of them. Kids 8 and 2 thought this was awesome. Business was open Saturday and they didn't bother us. You need to drive into the complex. Stop at the office first to check in.
[Alex, 07/13/2015]There are several excellent metal sculptures of dinosaurs on the property of steel fabricators G.J. Oliver, Inc. A T-Rex seems to pursue a brontosaurus across a field. Cavemen stand at a distance with clubs. The owner of the business, the late Mr. Oliver, had the prehistoric creatures created in 1995 by metal fabricator and employee Woody Houser. Made for Oliver's kids (his son John now runs things), the dinosaurs became local landmarks.
Unfortunately, the closest vantage permitted is of the triceratops through a chain-link fence surrounding a parking lot. Insurance liability prevents the company from making the statues more accessible to the public -- we admit, there were trucks and forklifts shunting around on a weekday morning, with no way to bypass. But from the main office parking lot you can see the big figures heading for the woods...
[RoadsideAmerica.com Team, 07/08/2012]The steel dinosaurs are looking awesome! If you go up Avenue A at the split you get a better view of the 2 dinosaurs and the caveman. (without going on their property). Or continue up Industrial Dr. to see the one dinosaur closest to the road.
