- Calistoga, California - Old Faithful Geyser of California
Should be re-named Irregular Geyser right now. We have been here before and experienced the geyser magic multiple times in a single visit. Fast-forward to today: don't know if it is changes to its plumbing system. or the severe drought. but the Geyser is not erupting very much right now. Fortunately, the attendant told us that it had not erupted yesterday and only erupted once today (two hours ago). So we opted to come back another time when hopefully it will be regular again.

- Calistoga, California - Old Faithful Geyser of California
$15 per adult and $9 per kid. Go see the real one in Yellowstone -- it's free and it's better. There's a 10-ft, fence blockade around the attraction so you can't see it. Spending $40 on Christmas for a tiny eruption didn't seem worth it.
[Sandra, 12/27/2016] There is a lot of build-up to this naturally occurring hot-water shower. It probably isn't warranted... but it's still cool nonetheless! I agree with other reviewers that it is overpriced. But those who are suckers for a roadside attraction, especially one as venerable as Old Faithful, will get a kick out of it. Steam shows were happening every 5 to 10 minutes when I visited, so there's not a long wait. The goats are cute, but, then, goats are pretty much always cute. Lots of kids. Baby goats, I mean.
[Doctor Peg, 03/11/2015]Cool but not necessarily $14 cool. Should be a $6 attraction.
[Bethepoo33, 05/08/2014]In northern Napa Valley, where pricier cork popping is customary.
New ownership Jan. 2013 - prices going up. Baby goats made it worth it! We got in just before closing and were able to stay as long as we wanted, even after the gift shop closed. Had a nice little picnic while watching the geyser!

Technically it's about $30 to get into Yellowstone (without factoring in gas costs if driving from California). But we agree that Calistoga's squirter is no match for the real Old Faithful.
