Officially this is just the smallest church on Route 66, but it can compete as the smallest church in America. Only 7 x 4.5 feet, it has two benches and an altar and can seat two people and a minister. Built by a family in 2012, with lumber from the historic Skylark Bar (which was torn down at this spot), in memory of Leroy Austin Kenna, a long time Route 66 businessman. Its window is from Winslow's old Mormon church.
[Tess Kenna, 04/29/2012]It looks like a tiny church that could only exist in a place that doesn't get much rain.

We went to this location yesterday and sadly it burned last weekend. Owners think a vigil candle sparked the fire.
[Lara, 07/25/2017]The little wooden church, which was filled with candle offerings and statuettes, was destroyed in a fire on July 14, 2017. According to Rev. cat's Facebook page, the church may be rebuilt by the same guy who crafted the mini-tiny church (1:24 scale) for the site's popular model railroad display.
It is not only the church here, but a wonderful outdoor model train installation and "Lucky Mojo," a shop/mail order business that specializes in "paraphernalia of conjure" like voodoo, religious, etc. All together a wonderful stop!!

The outhouse-size Chapel is topped with a cross as big as the rest of the tiny building, which makes it easier to spot from a distance.
