Indian Village Gator Wrestling
Miami, Florida
This wrestling show is just one part of the Miccosukee Indian Village attraction, which despite its Miami address is way, way out in the Florida Everglades. There's also an air boat ride, a display of native structures and crafts, a gift shop, and a restaurant that serves gator meat.
The Miccosukee's PR people have renamed their wrestling demonstrations "cultural alligator shows." It's pretty much the same set of moves that you'd see elsewhere, but instead of being salted with tales of gator terror, it's seasoned with references to native lore.
Although the parking lot of the Village has a statue of a large native and gator facing off, the last Miccosukee wrestler, Rocky Jim Jr., retired in 2016. The wrestling is now performed by others.
