Black Duck - Drake Motel

The third duck in a town named Blackduck, this statue is a private enterprise effort, advertising the pleasures of the Drake Motel from a concrete perch outside the aging motor court. It struck us as sad and lonely -- about five feet long, made of paper mache and wood.

We last saw it in 1998, so it might have since been retired or replaced...
