Doggie Diner Heads
San Francisco, California
Spurred by the news of a Doggie Diner disaster, we tried to find as many extant Doggie Diner heads as we could. John Law collected three of them, and when not in a parade, or at Burning Man, they might be spotted in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood on his trailer. A 2014 Kickstarter project raised funds to restore the trio and their trailer.
We've also been told that there's a Doggie Diner head at Streetlights Record store in San Jose; one outside the tasting room at Vino Noceto Winery in Plymouth, CA; and one at an Anderson Valley, CA, ranch named Sheep Dung Estates (more recently displayed at The Other Place, Boonville, CA).
In January 2005, a restored Doggie Diner head was added to the median strip of Sloat Boulevard near Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
Collector Bruce Kennedy harbors two Doggie heads in his business lot in Hayward, California.
