Perhaps the Muffler Man with the planet's pastiest complexion, Greg E. Normous is a decorative presence in a putt-putt golf crowded with fiberglass animals and other colorful hazards. He wears a broad brimmed hat, shielding his face from sun and further accentuating his colorless countenance. The nickname is a tribute to Australian golfer Greg Norman, number one in the world in the 1980s-'90s, who wore a similar stetson at times.

Our earliest tipster sightings, in the 1990s, had this figure somewhere in New Baltimore, near Ann Arbor, ultimately mapped as in Chesterfield. The Muffler Man was reported to have been acquired from a Goodwrench business where he stood for many years, holding a giant wrench. The figure was probably installed at the putt-putt golf in the mid-1990s.
