Santa's Village
Jefferson, New Hampshire
Santa's Village is one of a string of surviving, aging Storybook and Santa-themed parks across New England. If you visit several in one trip, or even in the same decade, they all blend together a bit. So we may have been to this Santa's Village, like, 20 years ago, but we can't be sure. We have photos. Which one has the candy cane forest and the sleigh spin ride? Uh, they all do.
Aside from its collection of kid-pleasing rides, Santa's Village has maintained an impressive array of nightmare-scale statuary, from the looming entrance Drummer Boy to a massive Snowman to a larger-than-life white bunny.
And here's what we jotted down as important if we made it back to Santa's Village: "See the electroanimated Jingle Jamboree and the macaw show with trained birds that ride bikes, rollerskate and do magic tricks. Don't miss Nick's Pizza Emporium." But that note is 15 years old...
Someone needs to visit Santa's Village again.
