Paul Bunyan Muffler Man
Dallas, Georgia
Type: Bunyan (20 ft. tall)
Arm position: Standard
Accessories: Double headed ax
New York's State's Magic Forest theme park displayed a number of Muffler Men statues, but its Paul Bunyan was given prime exposure just inside the entrance, probably because it was in such good shape.
The owners told Joel Baker (at American Giants) that the theme park found this 1960s Muffler Man in the 1980s, still in his original shipping crate, forgotten for over 20 years. With two fewer decades of wear and tear, he's maintained his rustic charm into an era when scruffy beards and flannel shirts have become the height of male fashion.
Also according to Joel -- and here we're geeking out on Muffler Man minutia -- he's the only known Bunyan Muffler Man with a removable hat.
In 2018 he was purchased by Mike Whitman in Dallas, Georgia, who stood the Rip van Winkle Bunyan next to his plumbing business in 2019.
