Bolt's Antique Tool Museum
Oroville, California
The largest tool museum in the U.S. is a collection of thousands assembled by Bud Bolt over 50 years, all carefully labeled. Opened in 2006. Collection features tools from 4,000 years ago, a barbed-wire collection, old gas pumps, and 235 tools representing 51 different railroads. There are also nutcrackers, knife sharpeners, toasters, rug beaters, ice and coal tools, blacksmith tools, amputation tools, grease guns, battery testers, an entire wall of monkey wrenches, and an unfortunately named "Anal-O-Scope" from the late 1950s.
The gift shop includes a special table -- $1.00 for any tool on it -- and a DVD tour of the museum that's 2.5 hours long!
