Dogpatch U.S.A. (Closed)
Marble Falls, Arkansas
The Dogpatch USA theme park opened in 1968 and was devoted to The L'il Abner characters created by cartoonist Al Capp. Dogpatch did a good job of remaining loyal to the backwoods look and spirit of the original comic strip; L'il Abner and Daisy Mae lived here for 25 odd years, until the park ceased operations in 1993. The town of Marble Falls had officially changed its name to Dogpatch for the park's duration, and switched back in 1997.
There was a working trout farm on the grounds, and a couple of places to try your luck fishing for them. Your luck was always good, because the trout were so packed into the ponds that you'd hook one in the back when your line hits the water.
