Muffler Man Cowboy (Gone)
Rock Springs, Wyoming
Type: Cowboy (22 ft. tall)
Arm position: Standard
Accessories: Stetson Hat, Regular size tire
Status: Missing
This cowboy version of a Muffler Man, made in quantity to promote Phillip 66 filling stations, has been missing for a long time. We first spotted him in 1985, while gassing up just off I-80 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
The statue was gone by the late 1990s. At the time, lots of Muffler Men were moving on to 2nd or 3rd careers, sold or salvaged for display elsewhere, but there were no credible leads on where this guy might have ended up.
