TV and Movie Animal Walk of Fame

Field review by the editors.

Burbank, California

Not really a walk, but a series of cement slabs on the front lawn of the Burbank Animal Shelter. Each slab contains a set of foot/paw/hoof prints and the name and year that its animal earned a PATSY (Performing Animal Top Star of the Year) award. The awards themselves lasted from 1939 to 1986, but the Walk of Fame only covers a stretch of years in the 1950s and 1960s. Still, that's enough time to honor such animal celebrities as Lassie, Benji, the Shaggy Dog, and Francis the Talking Mule, as well as forgotten stars such as Jackie the lion and Rhubarb the cat.
