Rock Formerly Known as JFK Profile Rock
Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii
For many years, a jagged, angled outcrop of what looks like black lava rock was identified in postcards as "JFK Profile Rock" -- and with a little imagination it does resemble a side view silhouette of the big-haired 35th President. It's still there, and a round metal tube atop a pole next to a roadside pull-off directs your eye to this amazing phenomenon -- only now it's labeled noncommittally as "Changing Profile Rock." It still looks like JFK.
