Haunted Kansas Aviation Museum
Wichita, Kansas
Wichita still calls itself "Air Capital of the World," and at one time Wichita Airport was one of the busiest in the nation. Now McConnell Air Force Base surrounds the old airport terminal, which has been turned into the Kansas Aviation Museum. It's still a busy place, only it's populated with dead people. Museum employees report mysteriously slamming doors, the babble of happy voices when no one is around, a disappearing man in a 1940s hat, public announcements and music from another era. Maybe this would be typical of most old airport terminals if they also were turned into museums?
The Wichita Airport Terminal was built in 1935 without heat or air conditioning, so the museum is hot in the summer and cold in winter. There are around 40 old planes -- including a B-52 -- to examine close up. At least one of them is also haunted, a bright yellow crop duster supposedly spooked by a pilot who crashed and died in it.
