International Museum of Spiritual Investigations (Closed)
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Opened in 2010, this small museum is appropriately located in an old house in a town with lots of reported ghosts.
The International Museum of Spiritual Investigations must deal with the usual problem confronting a museum devoted to ectoplasmic encounters -- namely, what can the visitor see? Exhibits lean heavily on press clippings, photographs, and audio recordings, and stress the long history of ghost hunting in the USA and elsewhere. Workshops in the museum teach the finer points of ghost-detecting equipment and techniques. IMSI is run by a gang of ghost hunters, and visitors are encouraged to share their paranormal stories with the staff.
