Alien Print Shop Mural
Roswell, New Mexico
The Hall-Poorbaugh Press had been in Roswell for 83 years when its resident artist, Matt Barinholtz, joined forces with a local teacher and some enthusiastic teens to paint an alien-themed mural on the business's north wall.
Titled "Printing Aliens," it shows several apron-clad extraterrestrials, aided by their robot pals, cranking out what appears to be a UFO newsletter. Completed copies tumble into a bin labeled "Our Printing is Out of This World."
The we-didn't-see-that-coming view of technologically advanced aliens distributing information on PAPER perhaps helps to explain why the Hall-Poorbaugh Press went out of business only four years after the mural was completed.
