Forrest Gump's Bench
Savannah, Georgia
Is this really the bench on which Forrest Gump parked his keister through all the precious interludes in his eponymous movie? The Savannah History Museum says yes. Paramount says no: it claims to have the real bench in storage, and that this bench is just one of several replicas sent as hilarious gifts to the Oscar nominees from the film.
Whichever claim you believe, it's likely that this Forest Gump bench is the only one you'll ever be able to see, although a velvet rope prevents you from actually sitting on it. Displayed with Gump's suitcase, it's considered one of Hollywood's most iconic props. The museum says it was moved indoors to protect it from the weather and theft.
