Twin Peaks Diner, Pies

Field review by the editors.

North Bend, Washington

Although over 20 years have passed since the last Twin Peaks Festival was held in North Bend, fans of the early 1990s David Lynch cult TV series still come to town to visit the show's "Double R Diner" (now Twede's Cafe) for its character-praised cherry pie and "damn fine cup of coffee."

According to our waitress, a big fire set by burglars gutted the diner in 2000, but somehow its informative back hallway display of every single Twin Peaks collectible trading card has survived. Twede's sells souvenir magnets, post cards, coffee cups (of course), and what is possibly the world's ugliest t-shirt.

FYI: Twede's is pronounced TWEE-dees.
