Chuck Berry Statue
St. Louis, Missouri
Frozen in an eternal semi-duckwalk, an eight-foot-tall bronze Chuck Berry, circa 1955, plays his big electric-acoustic guitar. Sculpted by Harry Walker in 2011, the statue stands across the street from the Blueberry Hill nightclub, which features a mini-museum of Chuck Berry memorabilia (Berry was born in St. Louis).
The statue is positioned in front of a low wall with little holes that look like braille or an old computer punch card, but are in fact lights that supposedly mimic an LED display when Chuck Berry tunes are played in the statue plaza. The lights weren't in action when we visited; maybe they're only turned on at night.
