George Washington's Outdoor Bathtub
Bath, West Virginia
In 1748 future President Washington bathed in a bathtub-shaped hole in a rock, fed by warm natural springs, and loved it. He returned regularly, joined a partnership to buy the land, and his fame created Berkeley Springs, America's first health spa.
The town holds a "George Washington's Bathtub Celebration" in March, and the bathtub has been preserved and marked for posterity.
