Forest Lawn Cemetery: Most Patriotic Place in LA
Los Angeles, California
Forest Lawn's Hollywood Hills cemetery has an outdoor "Court of Liberty" that's one of the grandest-scaled patriotic shrines in all of America. Its four sides include a statue of George Washington atop a towering "Washington Monument," the World's Largest Historical Mosaic (162 feet long with 25 patriotic scenes made from 10 million pieces of glass), a statue of Lincoln in front of his own big mosaic, and a statue of Jefferson that seems neglected by comparison.
Also here, a full-size reproduction of Paul Revere's Old North Church. Behind the giant mosaic is the Hall of Liberty where you can watch a free half-hour film about the American Revolution, which made all of this possible.
